Red Hat 6.7 Enterprises Installation and Registering the Installation with Red Hat for Activation using Command Line for updates

Redhat 6.7 Enterprises Installation

Insert the CD in the CD/DVD Drive and boot from CD/DVD Drive

Select Skip as we dont needed to test the DVD

Select Next to proceed the installation




Select English and Click Next




Select US English and Click Next




Select Basic Storage If your are using any special storages like NAS or SAN select Specilized storage devices then Click Next


A storage Device warning will be displayed, select Yes, Discard any data



Click on Yes, Discard any data and continue 





Here for instllation purpose I had Give a domain name here I am giving sap.demo.com



Select Asia/kolkatta in geographical location, Click Next



Provide the Password for root and click Next


Select the installation Type, Here I selected Replace the Existing Linux System(s), Click Next
Select the Basic Server on the installation type and Click Next

Click Reboot to complete the installation








Post Installation 

After installation we have to configure some basic thing to work around
By default after installation Redhat 6.7 will not connect to the network the screen looks
like this
Login into the system providing the root username and password which we provided at the time of installation
You are logged in as root user, Now we have to see the available network  cards in the Linux machine
This will list out the available lan cards
[root@sap]# ip link show


To activate the network card run
[root@sap]# ifup eth0  


Tofind out the IP address of the plsystem ease run this command

[root@Sap] # ifconfig          

Registers the Installation with Red Hat Server for activation and uptades using Command Line utility 
After the ipaddress we needed to register the Installation with redhat as without registration we will not able to update or install any libraries from the Redhat update server
[root@sap ~]# subscription-manager register --autosubscribe --force
Username: registered
username
Pas
sword:*********
The system has been registered with ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Installed Product Current Status:
Product Name: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server
Status:       Subscribed
