openSUSE Leap 42.1

1. Insert openSUSE 42.1 Insallataion DVD in DVd drive and boot from the DVD.

2. Select Installation in the screen and press ENTER.


3. Wait for the initializing and Click Next
 
4. Click Next to Accept the License Agreement.
 
5. Setup will check for the system configuration, Click NEXT

6. Select the Hard Disk from the list or you can select Custom Partition if you like to choose options.

 7. In custom partitions, then I select Create LVM-Based Proposal 
 8. Click Next to procceed for Installation.
 9. Select Asia/Kolkatta for Clock and Time Zone.
 10. Here we can select GNOME/KDE I Selected Gnome Desktop, Click NEXT.
 11. Provide the username and password for default login.
 12. Provide the password and click Next, Here I provided a simple password it showing warning that a password is too simple.
 12. Click Install, Here we can choose Export configuration for changing such things.
 13. Click Install to confirm 
 14.After the installation starts the screen looks like this.
 15. While installation it will show some of the features available in the SUSE Linux.


























16. After the installation the system will get rebooted and  the screen looks like this.
























17. Click on the Activities to activate the menu.




















18. Click on the menu button to see the Applications installed in the system.

AWS: Upgrade PV Drivers on Windows Instances

Amazon Windows AMIs contain a set of drivers to permit access to Xen virtualized hardware. These drivers are used by Amazon EC2 to map instance store and Amazon EBS volumes to their devices. If your Windows instance is launched from a Windows Server 2012 R2 AMI, it uses AWS PV drivers. If your Windows instance uses RedHat drivers, you can upgrade to Citrix drivers. If you are already using Citrix drivers, you can upgrade the Citrix Xen guest agent service. To verify which driver your Windows instance uses , open  Network Connections  in Control Panel and view the  Local Area Connection . Check whether the driver is one of the following: AWS PV Network Device Citrix PV Ethernet Adapter RedHat PV NIC Driver Alternatively, you can check the output from the  pnputil -e  command. Incremental Database Backup : Create a folder for the backup in the Hardisk (Ex: C:\SQL_backup\Incrementail) 1. Open SQL Server Management Studio and connect using windows credentials. 2. Click Management   and select Maintenance Plans . 3. Right-Click on Maintenance Plans and select New Maintenance Plans, Give naming Convention as Incremental_DB_Backup . 4. In Left side of Server Management Studio there will be a Tool Box within Maintenance Plan Tasks   5. Drag and drop the Back Up Database Task and Maintenance Clean Task in the Incremental_DB_Backup   Design area.   6. Right Click on the Back Up Database Task and select Edit .   7.
