Installation of Centos 6.7

Installation steps
1. Insert the CD in the CD/DVD drive and select boot from CD/DVD drive. Select Install or upgrade an existing system



2. Select Skip as we dont want to test the CD/DVD media 

3. Click Next from the screen 

4. Select the prefered language, Here I select English and Click Next


5. Select the keyboard we want to use, I have selected US English (Keyboard) and click next





6. Select the Basic storage, we can select Specialized devices if we are planing to install on SAN or any other network storage devices. Click Next





























7. Here it will show warning message that it will overwrite the harddisk data, Select Yes, discard any data and Click

8. Provide the desired hostname for the machine, Here I selected the default name localhost.localdomain, and Click Next

9. Select the geographical region, I select Asic/Kolkata, Click Next


10. Provide the root password, you can give any password, but if we give some complex password so that any body can't estimate and crack in to the system, but I given a simple password, Click Next




11. Select the type of Installation, Hard disk partitions I slected Replace Existing Linux Systems(s) and Click Next.

12. It will confirm that it should overwrite the Hard disk settings. Select Write Changes to disk and Click Next




13.  Select the desired type of installation, If we are planing use Centos 6.7 as server but with graphics, I selected Minimal Desktop

14. Click Reboot, Centos Installation is completed. 



15. After reboot click Forward



16. License agreement will be displayed select Yes and Click Next

17. Here we can add aditional users, as a security reason we can add one user to avoid security of installing or erasing the pacakages

18. Select the date and time  or we can select Synchronize date and time over the network It will pull the date and time from the NTP servers

19. Click Finsh to complete the installation.
